We do not just tolerate Indians

.
We do not just tolerate Indians. We do not just tolerate Muslims. We do not just tolerate Kadazans. We do not just tolerate Christians. We do not just tolerate Malays. We do not just tolerate Hindus. We do not just tolerate Ibans.

We do not just tolerate Kelantanese. We do not just tolerate Sabahans. We do not just tolerate Sarawakians. We do not just tolerate Penangites.

We do not just tolerate socialists. We do not just tolerate liberals. We do not just tolerate communists. We do not just tolerate monarchists. We do not just tolerate BN supporters. We do not just tolerate Pakatan supporters. We do not just tolerate fence-sitters. We do not just tolerate gays. We do not just tolerate mak nyahs. We do not just tolerate anyone who speaks or looks different.

To us, “tolerate” is such a dirty word. We hate it.

What does tolerate mean ?

tol·er·ate. verb.
  • Allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that one does not necessarily like or agree with) without interference.
  • Accept or endure (someone or something unpleasant or disliked) with forbearance

We cannot simply just “tolerate” our fellow Malaysians (or the rest of humanity for that matter). We need to reach out and embrace all Malaysians without regard for class, creed and color. We need to cherish that diversity.

We must accept, not just tolerate. We must appreciate, not just tolerate. We must love, not just tolerate.

If we just only “tolerate” our fellow Malaysians, very soon the country will become intolerable.

Your Royal Monyetness,
In my line of work, I come across people who say, "Why do you want to help these people? They are ....fill in the blank....!" At the tip of my tongue, I wanted to say, "You bastard" but I just smiled and said, "Really?" Does that make me a hypocrite? But I carry on doing what I do anyway. I just "tolerate" these nay-sayers but rather "embrace" the needy, irregardless of creed or faith. purrr....meow!

I think the Government has been promoting "racial tolerance" without realising that it not exactly a very positive thing.

p.s. Should the monyets tolerate or embrace the cats ?

I think I'm quite tolerant towards the intolerants.

Problem is, they're not very tolerant of me, or of anybody who thinks like me.

I suspect people who do not merely tolerate (but accept, celebrate & love) effectively puts up a mirror to those eejits to show them their own ugliness.

Malek,
I think it is possible to accept and embrace another even though the other party does not do likewise.

I studied 12 years in a chinese school. I have no clue about a lot of Malay culture, Indian culture, Ibanese culture and etc. before I get to have some really good Indians and Malay friends and people of other races.

They as well, know very little about the Chinese.

I love how we learn each other over the past years. I learnt how to make Nasi Lemak, I learn some rude words of different language, I learn about different religions and advices from different religions...

People of different racial background, we need to talk. Talk anything. I hope the conversation can keep going, until everyone accept everyone... I am sure matured people can do that (surely matured monkeys as well).

In Malaysia, it's not TOLERATE. It's TOILET-RAPE.

Anyone of you out there better watch your back every time you go to public toilets.
